Internalization of The Nrimo Ing Pandum Value Among The Younger Generation of Javanese Ethnicity In Tembung Village

Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of internalizing the value of nrimo ing pandum among the younger generation of Javanese ethnicity in Tembung Village. This research used qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the internalization of the value of nrimo ing pandum occurs within the family and community environment. Within the family, these values are introduced through daily habits, parental advice, and interactions between parents and children, instilling attitudes such as ojo ngeluh (not complaining), legowo (humility and sincerity), and acceptance of life's circumstances.Within the community, the transmission of these values occurs through various Javanese traditions, including sungkeman (respectful gathering), selametan (traditional community ceremony), kenduri (community gathering), and rewangan (mutual assistance). The younger generation understands nrimo ing pandum as the ability to sincerely accept life's results after effort, rather than simply giving up without taking action. Applying this value contributes to the development of patience, emotional control, reducing complaints, and providing a way to cope with life's stresses. Furthermore, nrimo ing pandum encourages gratitude, simplicity, and the maintenance of positive social relationships in everyday life
